About Me

Hello my name is Xander Hutchison and this is my website. I am a 55 year old man now living in Jedburgh with my fiancee, whom I first met at High School in Kirkcaldy, Fife. Whilst at High School we did go out with each other for a short time, but didn't last long. Funnily enough we both went into the same line of work in Catering. In January 2015 I looked her up on Facebook and there she was. We met up in May 2015 and the rest as they say is history. I am registered disabled due to a spinal wasting disease and had to retire from work as I am no longer fit to do so. To keep myself as active as possible I have gone back to my love of photography as a hobby.

When I lived in Lancaster I attended the Adult College once per week and enrolling on 2 photography courses which ran 2010 to 2012. I passed both courses and obtained levels 1 & 2 in N.C.F.E Photography and currently studying Digital Photography Diploma. After moving to Jedburgh at the end of September 2015 and finding my way around, I joined Kelso Camera Club in September 2016 and I've been attending on a regular basis. The club has given me so much more knowledge and is interesting with guest speakers and in club themes on a monthly basis. There are 3 way Competitions per year when where we all put in photographs to be considered for selection. At the end of May we are holding our annual exhibition at the Town Hall, Kelso.

Last year we went to a friend's wedding and we shot the day's event. We went to a family wedding in Aberdeen and took some of our own photo's on the day. Both the weddings were great days, pity you can't shot your own wedding as this would be difficult. I went to the Photography Show at the NEC Birmingham for a few days to have a look around and also have a chance to meet the Disabled Photography Association of which I am a member. The Photography Show was fantastic and looking forward to next year., also next year Dot & I are getting married in August which I am looking forward to.
